Jolly Mon Sings Posted November 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2016 We are interested in Jolly Beach without using the resort. ---Do you have to pay a resort fee for access? ---Any details on public access?? --- Does Jolly Beach have a steep incline at the waterline similar to Valley Church Beach? andrea lynn Posted December 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2016 We were just there last week, we visited the public beach section and only paid $10 to rent 2 chairs. No entry fee.
richfromhaw Posted December 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2016 Andrea, We will be there in three weeks. To get to then enter the "public beach" section of Jolly, did you have the taxi take you to the resort entrance or some other place near the property? Was the beach chair (sun bed) & umbrella rental for the day through the resort itself or another vendor on the beach? Thank you for your help RichFromHaw

OntarioTraveller Posted January 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) Thanks we are interested in Jolly Beach as well. Could you rent umbrellas as well as chairs? Was it crowded? Was the public beach entrance well marked? Can you take the bus there? (We enjoy the local bus experience and like saving money too) We have been to Valley Church the last few times and wouldn't mind trying someplace different. We took the bus and remember going by the Condos at Jolly Beach but don't know if the bus went close enough to the beach. Thanks, we like to know what to expect! I just found out a bit of info on this... Bus # 20 or Bus #22 will take you to Jolly beach from the cruise terminal. It is only $1.50 each way, and they do accept US currency ( no coins though, was my understanding) . You can catch the bus on Market street, a few blocks from the port area. It's about a 20 min bus ride. My question, for anyone that has done this, is how far is the walk from the bus drop off area to the beach area? I went on Antiguas bus info website and there I found more of a general statement " it can take 10 to 25 mins walk to selected beaches" Hoping for some better , more detailed info from someone who might have actually done this. We have booked Rino riders and need to meet at Al Porter Restaurant, at the North finger of Jolly beach across from the golf course. Any info would be great!
