Ken Greco Posted November 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Going on the Pearl in January. Never been on a NCL cruise. Regular RCCL cruiser. Tell me about the food offered positives and negatives. Are the specialty restaurants worth it?
Sauer-kraut Posted November 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2016 ROFL .... if I said it was inedible would you consider it inedible? Just go with the flow, enjoy your cruise and realize that it is NCL and not RC. :D
JillL Posted November 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I am not a picky eater, so you may need to take my thoughts with a grain of salt... I have never had an issue with the food and think it is good to very good. The buffet... is a buffet. If you are expecting gormet food, you'll be disappointed. I have always been able to find many things that I really enjoy and have no issues eating there... especially when a long dinner seems unbearable. The main dining rooms... again never an issue. You may have things you don't like, but that can happen anywhere. Order something else. We also tried a couple of the specialty restaurants and really enjoyed them. We will have a four dinner specialty plan for our next cruise and really looking forward to it.
TonyFred Posted November 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2016 The food on the Escape and Getaway was better overall than any I have had on my RCCL cruises. In particular the buffet offers a much better variety and quality of food. Cagneys is consistently the best overall restaurant I have eaten at on any cruise ship. Of course these are strictly my opinions and others will think differently.
