When you board ship

I have learned from all of you that after boarding the ship in Ft.Lauderdale, you can have lunch in the dining room or Horizon Court. Are the pools open to swim, or only after the ship leaves port? Are the pools open when the ship is in any port, or only at sea? Thank you in advance.

You should be able to use the pool as soon as you're on the boat. Port days are great days to enjoy the pool because they aren't crowded. See you on 7/3. I'll race you to the pool!

Thank you Dramamama, I will see you there!! Karen

The dining-room-for-1st-day-lunch seems to be a hit or miss thing. It seems to vary across the various Princess ships, and even on the same ship from week to week. Check out the formal dining room first, with the buffet as a backup.

"These moments we’re left with - may you always remember

These moments are shared, by few

And those harbor lights, lord they’re coming into view

We’ll bid our farewells much too soon

So drink it up, this one’s for you -

Honey, it’s been a lovely cruise."

YOu will be able to do ALMOST everything...for example, the Casino you won't be able to do whilst at the dock, but start EATING UP AND SOAKING UP THE SUN as soon as you get on the ship. Make the most of your time cuz you're going it. Enjoy as much food as possible! Have a great cruise, I"m so jealous!
