Gaia0948# Posted March 10, 2017 #679 Share Posted March 10, 2017 My wife and I with 4 friends did this cruise Oct 30, 2015. What a great time, we had 15 beautiful days, outstanding crew and ship. I can't wait to go on Silhouette again, we booked the Baltic cruise for July 30, 2017. Can't wait...

Deb25 Posted March 12, 2017 #686 Share Posted March 12, 2017 And they were all so cheerful too...so nice! I noticed that too ! About the bed situation: when you book the cruise ask for a mattress pad/ topper to be put on your bed . They put it on the reservation under disability ( why I don't know) but it was on when we entered the room on the first day. if it's not, just ask your cabin attendant and it will get done. I always reserve ahead now after suffering through a princess cruise 5 years ago. makes a difference. Ask for 2 if not soft enough. Thank you for this fabulous review. We are going on our first TA in April and our firstB2B. Love all the information you put in. Deb25
ProfessorEFFE Posted March 13, 2017 #687 Share Posted March 13, 2017 tweetylori, I must tell you that your review, IMNSHO, is/was excellent. I usually find most pictorial reviews kind of too much of the author and not enough of the environment. Yours however was AMAZING! The food porn was really nice and pointed out the artistic flair of the chefs. The pics of the towns/cities you visited were very interesting, showed the narrow streets well, showed the shops and their wares. Very nice. I will now need to go back for details. If I were going to give you a mark for this review I'd give it an A++. EXCELLENT JOB!! Thank you so much.

Nice to know that a good grade can make my day now like it did back IN the day! I apologize profusely for the typos. Cruise Critic does not allow us to go back and edit. Unfortunately I was often so happy to get pictures to finally upload to the photo site I used that I didn't take the time I should have to correct the typos that now haunt me. I appreciate you not taking off points for them! ;p

Deb25 Hi Lori I have the answer to your question about the building in Rome that you didn't know and asked about. It's the original stock market of Italy. The home of lehman Sachs in My Italy. Near Trevi fountain. I have a friend who lives in Rome and knows all things Rome and Italy. He was our tour guide when we were in Rome a few years ago. I asked he answered. Love it! DocJohnB Posted March 16, 2017 #693 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I discovered this thread earlier in the week and have spent the past 3 afternoons, off and on, thoroughly enjoying myself. I have taken 5 T/A's (all on "X"). (Century, Equinox x2, Solstice and Silhouette). This wonderful review of yours was 'almost' like taking my 6th. I cannot think of any other review (with or without photos) I have enjoyed as much. Thank you for taking so much of your time sharing your experiences and photos with the rest of us. BTW, have you uploaded any videos to YouTube? If so, could you provide a link?

Did the ship make a big difference in your experience? Any tips/advice for future ventures? Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot! And no, haven't posted any videos. MushyT17 Posted March 18, 2017 #696 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks for posting the menu. I am on a gluten free, and dairy free diet. I have let them know, so it will be interesting to see how that works. Food looks and sounds great!:) Cheers, Mushy Left side that stays the same throughout the cruise:

Thanks for the reminder that I should probably go back and revisit that thought! We have done 5 TA and will do the 6th this fall on the Silly frm Rome, which we did in 2015. Three the southern route and 2 the northern route. We liked the Silly for the southern route and the Grand Princess for the northern route. Really enjoyed the northern route seeing Copenhagen, 3 different cities in Norway, Shetland Islands, Faroe Island and 3 cities in Iceland over the 2 cruises.
