Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #101 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Where did you dine to get unlimited filet mignon? Moderno, and it's by far the best restaurant on the ship. On the Escape it was a little too salty, but on the Epic if is just right. They come around and give you a piece or two so ask for more if you want it. The lamb and grilled pineapple are heavenly as well!!!
Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #102 Share Posted December 11, 2016 We loved the spa,the entertainment was great, we liked to go to the casino. And we actually liked the ability to dine anytime, which we though we would like the least. As far as specialty dining, we dined at LeBistro,Cagney's,and Moderno and liked Moderno best. Dislikes were the bed was too short in the cabin.(not a deal breaker). Also, I really didn't like the fact that you have to purchase shade on the private island. The tender process was confusing and in the end they didn't follow the schedule since they were early. Overall, great cruise experience. Sent from my iPad using Forums I loved the spa too, I went every day, even on embarkation before dinner. We enjoyed the entertainment but the food in the specialty restaurants stole the show. I only did the casino twice but my husband hung out there most days. In the end we were both slightly ahead so can't complain . There were a lot of complaints about Great Stirrup Cay tendering. Only 1/2 of our ship went and some people said they waited nearly two hours (according to the CD it was over an hour wait for most). We went at noon and only had to wait 25 minutes so it worked perfect for us. The water is really chilly though, so those going in the next few weeks be prepared. Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #103 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Enjoying your blog, thank you very much , we are on the epic end of January.Do u have a pic of the blue diamond u bought? Where did. Get it? Did u happen to go to the large grocery store in Cozumel? I can't remember where it is. Thanks again. The Mega is a 5 to 6 block south of the Epic docks in Cozumel. Really easy to get to and I've walked it before. That is the cheapest place to get liquor and they take credit cards.
Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #104 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Here is the blue diamond ring in a ring box from home. It's not best picture, I can get a better one later with my good camera. I have to find the receipt to tell you the store. It's north of the ship a few blocks on the main road. Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #105 Share Posted December 11, 2016 I enjoyed my final night in a burrito roll on my balcony. The wind had picked up and the waves were slapping the ship like a naughty child. It was quite lovely, just the right amount of rocking. Debarkation was a breeze. I timed the beginning of the customs line to the end and it took us 5 minutes. We used Cortrans and with 7 minutes were sitting in a conformable van. If I go again we will use them instead of a car rental.
Lady Anna & Sir Troy Posted December 11, 2016 Author #106 Share Posted December 11, 2016 One of the two best bartenders. I'm not sure if they make the drinks that strong, but they sure are tasty. They are great at recommending drinks as well. YDXJ0130 by Anna Peabody, on Flickr

joshuae Posted December 12, 2016 #116 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Do you know how difficult it was for non-haven people to get posh tickets? If you went to posh, how was it? We're sailing next week and are trying to get to the port early.

We're sailing next week and are trying to get to the port early. I have done posh before. You need to be in the early group to get posh and go directly to customer service. I prefer the aft balcony of the spa, less windy, but others love posh. The loungers are much more comfortable and you don't have to worry about rushing to get a spot, plus alcohol service is excellent.
Tutontow Posted December 12, 2016 #118 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Day 7 Evening The good. Enjoyed a quiet nap and the gentle rocking of the ship. Later I went shopping and enjoyed a lovely lunch of meatball sandwich and lemon cake. Dinner was good with the gnocchi and calamari with great service at La Cucina. Quick tip, you can order almost any of the pastas with a different sauce so I had my gnocchi with alfredo. Also ask how to get there at the *buffet. Was going to head to the magician comedy show but had to straighten out some stuff. Currently I am listening to the waves outside and enjoying the peace in my stateroom. Will head out for perfect couple and, quest in just a little bit, or stay in and watch a movie. Finally relaxed again. The not so good. I don't like negativity but I do value truth, so read further only if you are okay with hearing the negative. *First, have a mix up in reservations for dinner and go back and forth to fix it, yes they tell me to go to the actual restaurants. Told the wrong place to pick up liquor, ended up it was just late to the stateroom. Called for my laundry three times and finally went to dinner in slightly dirty pants (spilled on by waitress yesterday and another pair by a guest the day before so no extras). *Mistakes on bill which have to be fixed, so do check it. I have been trying to keep the posts upbeat but the service is very inconsistent across the ship. The biggest problem is instead of calling the different departments they have you running around fixing stuff for them. Huge tip, call 00 from your room. You will skip the lines and running around. I miss the Epic I knew with the excellent service. If I didn't know just how grand she can be I probably wouldn't be so dissapointed. I'll post some more thoughts tomorrow and am happy to answer questions. It sounds like you had a great time with a couple of hiccups along the way. The statement about inconsitent service seems to be a reacuring theme since the Epic docked at PC. I hope they get it squared away before my March cruise. If not we will still have a great time. Good food and drinks in the middle of the ocean....we will have a good time.

computerworks Posted December 13, 2016 #122 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Am I understanding you correctly that there is alcohol service in the spa? I was referring to posh in the third sentence compared to other places around the ship. The loungers are really nice in the spa too.
