Compass Rose Monica Posted December 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Yesterday late afternoon I booked our flight to Rome for next October for our cruise on the Reflection. Our plan is to spend several days in Tuscany before heading to Civitavecchia. I woke up suddenly this morning (about 3am) as I realized I booked my flight to Rome on the WRONG day! This past week, I've been checking various agriturismos in Tuscany. Well, when I booked my flight yesterday, I booked it the same date as my arrival date at the agriturismo, rather than the day before. Apparently that arrival date was stuck in my head and I didn't think about the overnight flight. Never happened to me before. Choice Air came through!! I called this morning to see if my flight could be changed to the day before. No problem! My original flight was cancelled and the new one booked. I was told that since I called within 24 hours of booking and that I selected the exact flight schedule, I wouldn't be charged their normal $200 pp penalty/change fee. And the icing on the cake: $32.20pp refund, as our new flight was less expensive. Happy!! :p Monica
Rare killsport Posted December 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Glad they were able to help. US and foreign air carriers operating from the US must offer a method to provide a 24-cancellation free of charge (but that doesn't mean the travel agent / Choice Air can't charge a service fee). Source: https://www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.gov/files/docs/Notice_24hour_hold_final20130530_0.pdf Regardless, it is nice that they were able to assist (and it seems like they did it with a smile). Enjoy your upcoming trip!

Wayneair Posted December 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2016 It's amazing how our minds work. Yes, we may be asleep, but the brain is still processing.

Compass Rose Monica Posted December 9, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted December 9, 2016 It's amazing how our minds work. Yes, we may be asleep, but the brain is still processing. I hate when that happens. I tossed and turned the rest of the morning. I should have just gotten up and called C.A. right away. I might have gone back to sleep.
