Timeframe for releasing FTTF to purchase

I know they don't release all the FTTF openings at once and will do some closer to sail date.

 

What is the closest to sail date you have been able to purchase it?

 

Trying to gauge if I have missed the chance. TIA

A month from the cruise i was able to purchase one but i was checking almost hourly and they went fast.

I actually had this conversation with a Carnival agent a few days ago on the phone. She said that they release a limited amount a month (maybe 10 or so) and then when those sell, they put "SOLD OUT" on the excursion. They do this monthly or bi-monthly up until about 60 days out and then release a much larger portion. Once these sell out they will STILL save a few to release in the next months getting closer to the date. I am sailing in May and she told me I should not expect a large amount on sale until March or so, at least. I am not sure how accurate she is, but that is what I was told.
