roe2ship Posted November 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2005 I am thinking about a cruise to Hawaii and believe NCL is the only line to cruise 7 days and during Summer too. Unsure about trying NCL but have to admit I love the fact of the cruise being roundtrip in Hawaii. Is there any time of year that is better as far as weather goes? TIA
FrogCruiser Posted November 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2005 I'd stay away in March (personal experience) - had rain, torrential rain, for 9 straight days once when I was there in March.... so other than that I'd say anytime is good time to cruise Hawaii. Bob & Julie Posted November 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2005 November & December are great months to go. Highs in the low 80's and lows in the low 70's.:)

mzeng1 Posted November 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2005 We did the Hawaii trip in April 2004.....mid month. We had a balcony that we could not use------in the mornings and eveings it was too cool. Very windy. Maui was nice and warm during the day.....but we did a luau in the evening and it was cold. Never Again. We went whale watching.....saw one lousey whale. The caribbean is just as beautiful, and much closer for us!
Middleager Posted November 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2005 End of June to end of Aug. are busy times. We went at end of Aug. to early Sept. Weather was great and it was the start of lower pricing for the NCL cruise. If you like whale watching, it's from Dec. - March, may see some in Nov. and Apr. Weather aside, Sept. & Oct. are apprently the slow months, except for the Ironman days in Kona.
beachchick Posted November 9, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2005 We've been there in February and had perfect weather. In March the weather was great too. This June, we hit torrential rain on the BI on both sides (even the dry side). We've been in September, when it's typically hottest. We've been in November/December and had a mix of perfect weather/stormy weather. No matter when you go, it will rain. It is somewhat cooler and rainier in the winter months. For spring and fall, it's harder to say. It varies from year to year, but will probably be wetter in March and April than in September or October. The waters are usually warmest in October. September and October are good for pricing and also for fewer crowds (except Ironman as mentioned). The first two weeks of December are also usually less expensive and not as crowded. Our favorite times would have to be early to mid October and early May. beachchick
lhall85917 Posted November 9, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 9, 2005 We've only been in June, but had great weather. We would love to go when we could go whale watching, but I'm a teacher and only have certain times that we can go. Be sure to check out our CC group cruise for some good rates early next June - we'd love to have you join us!:D
bug_dan Posted November 9, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Just thought I'd post this link about "the time of Lono" http://www.aloha.net/~smgon/makahiki.htm Winter affects Hawaii too, although not to the extreme some of us experience on the mainland. The "time of Lono" is really the rainy season in Hawaii and runs from October/November to about March. No matter what time of year though, the temperatures don't vary all that much. 70's and 80's are typical all year long.
