Raisinette Posted December 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2016 Hello, I'm going to the western Caribbean for the first time in early February, and am wondering about mosquito's (I'm past child bearing age, so Zika is not a major concern). Should I anticipate mosquito's on the beach? How about near the jungle ruins? I've posted the same question on the Costa Maya site, however any info would be greatly appreciated! m1k2s3 Posted December 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) We were in Belize in February this year and had no problems with mosquitos - and believe me if there were mosquitos out they would have found me ( I'm a mosquito magnet). I did have on mosquito repellant just as a precaution. Instead of a beach, we opted for a tour of the Altun Ha ruins. OCruisers Posted December 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2016 Just use repellent and you will be fine. Actually, mosquitos have fragile wings so open spaces with windy breezes like beaches seldom have a mosquito problem. :)
