I've been sent a note card, regular mail thanking me for booking a suite and contact number, sometimes been sent nothing and asked once on board the ship. If one of the top suites like garden villa they've asked what type of alcohol and soda we want in the room and what time we will be at port so that onboard staff can meet us/have things ready. You can contact pre cruise concierge supposedly for things like a pillow request but in reality unless you have something that needs to be done prior to getting on the ship, your butler and ship concierge can get you what you need.
