Glorious Posted May 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2004 The Sapphire Princess use to be the Diamond Princess until it had what was quoted as a small fire. At the time the 2nd ship the Sapphire was 6 months behind the Diamond in construction. The name change came because of the fire. You can see pictures of the "small" fire at. http://community.webshots.com/user/jprwa Hope it is ship shape now. nycruise Posted May 26, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Marilyn: On a different sailing, but have a great time. Dorotha: Thanks for the link. Great pictures of the Sapphire. Glorious: I think most of us know about the fire back in 2002. Do you think Princess would accept the ship if it were any the worst for wear? Besides it has a 4 month shakedown in Alaska before it heads off to Mexico.
