I'm guessing that you mean 30' waves. The sea needs to be deeper than 30' for the ship to move. ;)

Old Tars or anyone other Seamen (women) knows that 30' Seas is the size of the waves. ;)

We went out on a 71' Catamaran fishing boat (Scat Cat) from Port Aransas once deep sea fishing and had 20' Seas that morning!

By 10 AM it was almost glass smooth but there were a few people who never recovered.

We were on this sailing. The seas were NOWHERE near 30'!

We were on the Behind the Fun tour on Saturday during the rough times and the Captain laughed when asked about the "storm". He quickly said " this is not a storm, it is a cold front!" When asked about the 20' swells, he said "these are 12' swells not 20'!"

Yes it was rough, but nowhere near as bad as it can get!! We had fun, but the last day was not fit for outside decks! :D:D
