Bodogbodog Posted January 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2017 The Name of the New Expedition Mega-Yacht Endeavor This yacht was announced last year and included reference to it being named after Captain James Cook’s famous ship HMS Endeavour – so why the choice to use an Americanised spelling, Endeavor, of the name which has no link to Cooks vessel Endeavour? When NASA named one of the space shuttles after Cooks vessel they spelt in correctly – Endeavour. Shouldn’t Cooks legacy and history be respected - it’s not too late to change it is it? EdieRodriguez Posted January 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Hello Bodogbodog, I am very familiar with the history of Captain James Cook, and we would have been honored to name the ship after his vessel. However, during our market research, we discovered the name Endeavour to be used by another brand. Based on this information, we elected to use Endeavor to avoid any confusion in the marketplace.
