toadsister Posted November 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Hello, I was wondering if anyone has used instant messaging onboard the Mariner of the Seas. I have AOL and would like to be able to instant message with my children and other family members and friends on sea days. I thought that it would be a fun way to keep in touch. I have not sailed with Royal Caribbean since 2002 and I don't remember if instant messaging was available then. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Nliedel Posted November 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Gene could not get his IM to work. The internet connection is expensive and very slow.
cincicruisers Posted November 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2005 I sailed the Mariner last year and have to agree that the connection was very slow. You could rack up quite a bill trying this. You can email though and that does not take too long. We did this to keep in touch with everyone at home. Wendy Why not save some money and find an internet cafe while in port? On our last cruise we found a library and used the internet for free.
