Timing from Ship to American Yacht Harbor in Red Rook and back

We will be sailing on the Epic in November and are trying to setup a daysail that leaves from teh American yacht Harbor in Red Rook. Unfortunately the Epic is on a 7am to 2pm schedule. I am trying to get as much time on the water as possible but leave enough time to get to and from the ship without too much stress.

With the ship time constraints, If I booked a sailing time from 8:30 to 12:30, would we be able to make it to and fro easily?

I'm not concerned really about getting there, but how difficult is it to get an immediate taxi at the Harbor coming back?

How bad would traffic be at 1pm returning to the ship?

Would you hesitate to set this up?

thanks for the help,

Jeff

We have done daysails departing from Red Hook numerous times and you cannot trust that you would make it back in time. If the ship departs at 2 PM allboard is probably 1:30. We have been stuck in traffic on the island before and would never cut it this close. The stress of getting back on time would wipe out the benefits of the sail. BTW both Highpockets with Capt. Kathleen and Independence are fantastic sails...we loved both.

I'm going out of red hook in feb.

The charter boat company works with a taxi co and they suggested 1/2 hour to get to/from the pier.

It's about 6-7 miles on Google maps.

Having said that my ship leaves at 6PM and we will be in Tortola the next day.
