rowmcvie Posted November 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Hi - I know this is the hotel board, but it seems to get more traffic than the Desatination boards and I have a specific question regarding restaurants in FLL. Doing some research, it sounded like Las Olas is a fun place to shop and eat. I looked online and Samba Room seemed kind of fun. So I made reservations there for dinner the night before we sail. My question is twofold...is the Samba Room a good place to eat and since we are staying at the Hyatt Pier 66 would there be other restaurants closer that anyone would recommend for dinner? Thanks for your help!
Bequia Posted November 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2005 You don't even have to leave the property. The Hyatt's Grille 66 is outstanding. ;) http://www.grille66andbar.com/menu.html
TrentS Posted November 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2005 I'll second Grille 66, but while I haven't been to the Samba Room, there are many nice restaurants along Las Olas Blvd... http://www.lasolasboulevard.com/ You can take the Water Taxi up there and get a nice tour along the way... http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLHome.Asp If you want something closer to the Hyatt, there are many many restaurants along SE 17th Street. Bravo is an excellent Italian restaurant opposite the Renaissance hotel... http://www.bravoitaliano.com/ Tara Steak & Lobster is across the street and about a block west of Bravo. It's new, and I still haven't managed to get there yet, but it looks wonderful!... http://www.tarasteakandlobsterhouse.com/
coiran Posted November 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2005 The Bimini Boatyard is a nice moderately priced rest. just across the causeway bridge from the Hyatt - We walked it last week for lunch - it's about a mile or maybe less.
