cleobella Posted January 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Has anyone been to Aomori and/or Kochi as port stops? What did you do there? Thanks for any info you may have!

someotherguy Posted January 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) I just answered another post regarding Aomori so that should be visible. I assume you mean Kochi Japan rather than Cochin India? Kochi has one of the 12 original castles, and it's a good one. There's a good temple and a lot of history (a museum where you can check out the role of the Tosa domain in the Meiji Restoration). http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5600.html I've used it as a base to visit the Iya Valley, which is a famously remote area with vine bridges and good scenery--but you'll need a car or an organized tour. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7825.html I was there by land, I don't know what's feasible as a port stop.
