Aomori and Kochi

I just answered another post regarding Aomori so that should be visible.

 

I assume you mean Kochi Japan rather than Cochin India?

 

Kochi has one of the 12 original castles, and it's a good one. There's a good temple and a lot of history (a museum where you can check out the role of the Tosa domain in the Meiji Restoration).

I've used it as a base to visit the Iya Valley, which is a famously remote area with vine bridges and good scenery--but you'll need a car or an organized tour.

I was there by land, I don't know what's feasible as a port stop.
