Any one know if one can rent/borrow a violin for a week?

Hi,

A muscian friend is going to be on St.John for a week, and is hoping to have access to a violin for a short time each day. She's a member of the local Philharmonic Orchestra, and wants to travel light! A friend said they saw student violins for sale in Cruz Bay (or maybe it was near Starfish Market), so there must be players there.

I didn't notice any on either St. Thomas or St. John that could accomodate your friend. She may be better off renting one here in the U.S. to carry with her. It'll be a pain in the neck to haul around, but she's better off leaving her prize possession at home.
