thehams Posted January 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2017 My husband and our 5yr old will be on the Escape in July and we will be in Nassau from 12pm - 8pm. So far I am leaning towards Blue Lagoon and or the Zoo. Looking for something to do that is fun for our son, that isn't Atlantis. Thanks :)
bguppies Posted January 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2017 I've done Blue Lagoon and Ardastra Zoo. It's been a few years for either, so I don't know how much has changed at either. At Blue Lagoon, I actually enjoyed hanging out by the holding side of the Lagoon, where the dolphins swim between their encounters with the guests. The Sea Lion and Dolphin encounters were both alot of fun. (did not swim with the dolphins) At Ardastra, I actually enjoyed feeding the Lorry Parrots (tiny, colorful, birds not larger Parrots I thought of before) more than the more famous marching Flamingos show. It is a very small zoo, but the trade off is how close you can get to the animals, versus the distance at the big US zoos. Plus the flamingos just wandered the zoo between their shows. If I was a 5 year old, who was not afraid of tiny birds landing on me and letting me feed them fruit, and seeing Meerkats and other animals up close, I would probably enjoy the zoo more. If I was a 5 year old, bonkers for dolphins and sea life, then maybe Blue Lagoon. Hope wherever you choose, your 5 year old has the time of their life.
