JawjaFatBoy Posted January 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Nice! We've been wanting to sail out of Charleston, and also add the Ecstasy to out "sailed on" list. We're sailing on the Elation in November and hoping it also gets the full treatment while it's in dry dock.
rabidstoat Posted January 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Looks like the restaurants and bars on other ships with the same name, but here are some pictures from today. I'm not sure how to mark the individual pictures but I took three of Guy's Burgers (the grill area, the toppings bar, and the surfboard theming), two of the Blue Iguana Cantina (the grill area, separate areas for burritos and tacos, and then the toppings area), and one of the Alchemy Bar. Pinkyoshi1 Posted January 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Thanks for sharing the new pictures of the updates, did they change anything else on ship? The cam still isn't working and no videos updated. Thanks
rabidstoat Posted January 31, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Thanks for sharing the new pictures of the updates, did they change anything else on ship? The cam still isn't working and no videos updated. Thanks  Supposedly they replaced one of the old shops with the Cherry on Top candy shop they have on other ships. Though I've never been on this ship before to tell if anything else has changed. The things I heard about were the candy shop, Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, and Alchemy Bar. The deck plans on the Carnival site still have the old place names in.
thefunbegins Posted February 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2017 We have cruised one time before, but our first on Carnival. Does the Ecstasy have outdoor theater? TIA!

Rachel16 Posted February 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2017 I spoke to a Rep from Carnival who reported the Ecstasy also had room corridor carpet replaced during this very recent dry dock. Early Winter 2017. In addition to the above added Restaurants and Candy Shop.. Additionally, I asked the Rep when was the last time bedding was replaced? She told me 3 years ago. That would take it back to 2014 perhaps? Truthfully I am looking forward to some posters on here who are sailing right now, for their feedback IF they decide to post. From everything I am seeing (youtube) and reading on here there is a either you love it or hate hate hate this ship. It is not they hate it a little but they dislike everything. :( Soon enough I will find out for myself too. And report back.

Our favorite places on the ship were Serenity area, Alchemy Bar, Guy's Burgers, and Blue Iguana. Area around the casino was VERY smoky, enough that we didn't frequent that area. Would I say we hated the ship? No, we didn't hate it, we were on a cruise. What I will say is that it was our least favorite cruise out of 8 total, 6 on Carnival and 2 on Royal. Ecstasy was not our favorite ship. That would be the Legend. If you have specific questions, I will try and answer them.

We are pretty easy to please not one of those 'it rained, it was cold, the eggs were like rubber, the bathroom was small, kids didn't like this or that, so WE didn't like the cruise" (we have cruised on Carnival before--not this ship) Our hope is the seas are not too rough and we don't freeze in April and all of us remain healthy during the trip. THEN we will be good. If I think of something I will ask. Thanks again !! :)
