sand_and_sun Posted January 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2017 We made reservations for the Steakhouse on our first night of the cruise. What is the dress code? Hoping we have our luggage. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruzeluver Posted January 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Same as other dining venues. Keep in mind the "codes" are mere suggestions are very rarely enforced. Things tend to be even more relaxed the first night as some may not get luggage prior to dinner.
gail811 Posted January 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2017 First night is a little more relaxed on the dress code. I would suggest no shorts though, it really is a nice dining experience. And be sure to check out the Bonsai Sushi across the hall (if you like sushi!)They are both "out of the way" on the Sunshine, but well worth the time to visit! A&Jfamily Posted January 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2017 We were told "no shorts" mid cruise on a casual evening but they let a guy in with them and a tshirt. He was under dressed but like many on this forum simply may not have cared. If it were me, I would wear or pack in my carry on a pair of slacks and a polo shirt for a man, and a wrinkle free sundress and sandals for women. That way I know we are appropriate. funinthesun1964 Posted February 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2017 On cruise casual nights (not formal nights) nice shorts are permitted in the dining room, it's been this way for some time. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1093/~/what-to-wear---evenings And yes, on the first night it is very relaxed. Many don't have their luggage or are not unpacked yet.

funinthesun1964 Posted February 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Oh, I guess I was confused because someone said something about a casual evening, and thought you were talking about the dining room there, in that post. I agree with no shorts in the steak house.
sand_and_sun Posted March 11, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted March 11, 2017 While I agree with no shorts in the Steakhouse, on the first night it's very casual and we saw several people in shorts and t-shirts. We received an email confirmation stating on first night it was considered cruise casual. Sent from my iPad using Forums
