BachelorettrBound Posted February 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Hey everyone! I am going on a cruise to Nassau in June with a bunch of my girlfriends. None of us have ever been there, and at the very least we would like to spend a few hours on the beach. Is there a nice beach that we can go to on the island when we get off of the boat, or do we really need to look into one of the "beach" excursions offered by the cruiseline? Thanks in advance! lab_love123 Posted February 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Hi! I would recommend Junkanoo Beach for a free beach. It's within walking distance of the cruise terminal (about 10-15 minutes or so). Turn right once you exit the terminal towards Senor Frogs, then keep walking; it's right near Fat Tuesday. There's chair rentals, food and drink stands, etc. You can buy day passes at several resorts also, the British Colonial Hilton is close and is nice, but pretty quiet every time I was there. There's others too that are a cab ride away, I think there's a Breezes Bahamas, a Riu, not sure what else.
cruiseapril Posted February 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2017 There are quite a few options, including those mentioned. We have enjoyed the British Colonial Hilton and the Melia on Cable Beach. There are several resorts on Cable Beach. If one wants relaxation and convenience the BCHilton is good- for more beach sports, Cable Beach is good.
Kroozen Posted February 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2017 My vote is for British Colonial Hilton. Right past Junkanoo Beach. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
OCruisers Posted February 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2017 While there are better beaches, Junkanoo would be fine since you only want to spend a couple of hours at the beach. ;)
