With the interpreter situation settled, I am booked for a 16 days Panama Canal transit on the Nieuw Amsterdam.

I would love to continue the adventures of Bear (who has his own Instagram account and more followers than I do on my own account). Not sure if I can share the link here...

What are spots or things aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam that we should discover?

So far I have the Stephen Card painting, the huge apple, the model of the 1937 version of the NA, a life ring with the name on it, deck chair on the Promenade Deck, the sculpture in the Atrium, etc.

Foodstuff are appreciated too! Really, anything goes here. :D

NADM has a ceremonial signature wall that includes the sigs of her godmother, HRH, now Queen, then Princess, Maxima of the Netherlands, as well as of a substantial number of her "inauguration passengers" back in July 2010. The wall, in two sections, is located on Main Deck/Deck 1, port and starboard sides, Atrium, near the Front Office on port and Shore Excursions/Hotel Director office on starboard side

The gilded tiled penguins - how many can you find? What colors.

Find the access to the deck on top of the Tamarind restaurant.

Name three kinds of sambal served with the shrimp chips in the Tamarind.

What ingredients go into the Tropa-Mango-Mojito. What is the trick to drinking it without getting "brain freeze".

Location of the breakfast sticky buns at the Lido (only one place on this ship)

Where does the long passageway exiting the Northern Lights club end up, if you enter the Northern Lights from the casino?

What is inside the large, carved, wooden credenza against the wall of the Explorer's Lounge?

What deck foyer has the large, Italian stone work "pieta dura" table top, hung on the wall as art work?

Eg: http://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/202713

Where is the large bronze ship builders plaque located: Fincantieri, Marghera Italy

What new, additional deck names were added to the traditional ones found on older and smaller HAL ships? The Neptune Lounge is found on what deck?

What is the signature carpet color for each cabin deck passageways.

Are their any hidden directional symbols in the ships decor to tell fore and aft. (Like the HAL ship logo on the cabin door mail baskets)

This will be great fun! I love these suggestions - far more exciting than the mainstream "easy" stuff as I love a challenge, and the more unique, the better!

Pat (gently) the Big Apple sculpture for us, we loved this ship.

Is there one of those "pushy-pushy" gambling machines in the NA casino which has little arms that keep pushing pitched quarters along with other winning packets of goodies off the ledge? And will you see anyone actually win anything from this machine?

Combined the lists and 10 external suggestions and printed it out. Ready to go!

I will be posting the results on my ( - er make that Bear's) Instagram profile so feel free to check them out! (Due to wifi, won't be updating in real time but delayed just so that you all know).

@kaitlyn_and_bear for Instagram and @KaitlynAndBear for Twitter. Will have a blog but not ready at this point.

Thank you all again for your helpful suggestions!

(And yes I will gently pat the apple for good luck :)
