Crusin Karen Posted March 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We just booked Sunshine using DH'es casino rate for the last week of September. Does this still qualify us for ES/price drops?
okgirl Posted March 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We just booked Sunshine using DH'es casino rate for the last week of September. Does this still qualify us for ES/price drops? Nope. The casino rate is already heavily discounted and is accompanied by all those perks, so it can't be compared to an ES rate.
tilliebob1919 Posted March 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We booked early saver a few weeks ago then qualified for a casino rate when that came out yesterday which dropped the price and was told that it can happen again and keep checking to see if it does. Book ES then do a price protection claim for the casino rate so you get subsequent price drops

firemanbobswife Posted March 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We already booked it using casino rate! Switch to ES and then price match to the casino rate. That's the only way to be eligible for price drops after final payment. Keep in mind that you will then be bound by ES terms and restrictions as far as name changes, cancellation penalties, etc.
winsmark Posted March 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Call and ask for the promotion department and tell them about the price change and see if they will change it. If not you can cancel your reservation without a penalty with the casino rate if before the final payment.
maryred Posted March 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2017 I've been able to get price adjustments while using the casino's Pack-n-Play rate. BUT the catch there is you are only eligible up to the day before the final payment date and only if you have not paid in full. They will adjust the amount due, but will not give you OBC like ES does. We have also successfully used a price adjustment after final payments on the P-n-P rate to upgrade from an obstructed view balcony to an Oceanview Suite for only a $190 difference. amyh13 Posted March 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We are booked under a casino rate and we were told we could lower the price up until final payment, not quite as long as ES but it was worth it to have a refundable deposit to us (up until final payment). Plus, we cruise in balconies and during peak times because we have children so we rarely see price drops anyway.
CuriousCruiser37 Posted March 9, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Nope. The casino rate is already heavily discounted and is accompanied by all those perks, so it can't be compared to an ES rate. I just booked my first cruise with a casino rate. What type of perks comes with booking a casino rate? I was just curious. Thanks! :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

LewLewBelle Posted March 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 10, 2017 I had similar issue.... Booked on ES rate and got a casino rate. The casino department told me I can still get price drops up until 2 days prior to sailing. Hope this helps :) Also if your ES rate was on a reduced deposit you will have to pay the rest of deposit and if there were any OBC with ES offer you loose those. Crusin Karen Posted March 10, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted March 10, 2017 I just checked and the "casino rate" that DH got this morning ("my rate" was about $200 higher) is now the REGULAR rate that I could have booked ES. And had possible price drops. I am PO'ed!!!! Ugh! Should have waited a few hours!!! :loudcry::loudcry:
