phillyburbslady Posted November 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2005 Does anyone know if any of the Key West Resorts offer a day pass for cruise passengers so one can use their facilities (i.e., pool, beach, restaurants, etc.) for the day?? What hotel resorts are near the dock where the ships will be? Thanks for any help. Karen
kal Posted November 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Key West isn't a good spot for hotel passes. More importantly the Keys are a limestone reef and the beaches are far and few between.
BlueHerons Posted December 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Karen, your best bet is to go to one of the public beaches. Since space is at such a premium in Key West, I would be surprised if any of the hotels (there really aren't resorts in Key West) sell day passes. The Wyndham Reach or Wyndham Casa Marina probably has the best facilites. The Hilton at Sunset Key would be my favorite but they do not sell day passes. twinkletoes4445 Posted December 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2005 We stayed at the Wyndham Reach, and the beach was really just so-so (I believe they are man-made). The pool area was nice, and we enjoyed a breakfast buffet at the restaurant, where we sat outside on a covered porch. It was quite a ways away from the port area (at least for us). Each time we took a cab, they charged by the person. It seems like for 4 of us, it was around $10 each way...not including a tip. The Wyndam Casa Marina is right next to the WR...however, you can't walk to the WCM from the WR on the beach. It seemed like there was some sort of a barrier, although I don't remember exactly what it was. If you look at the pictures of these places on the Internet, they look a lot nicer (and the beaches bigger) than they really are...IMO.
