editor@cruisecritic Posted March 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Hi, hoping someone out there has a better memory than I do -- about a decade ago I read the most marvelous chronicle of a retired doctor's world cruise on QE2 (which means it may have been written more than a decade ago). It was so good -- that I want to recommend it to a pal but I can't find it (we moved a few months ago, books are still in boxes). Does anyone recall? It was really long but also really funny about life aboard, mostly, on a world cruise. Any help is appreciated, thanks. bluemarble Posted March 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Carolyn, Could the book in question be "Cruising on the Queen Elizabeth 2: Around the World in 91 Days" by Bernard M. Patten? I have not read that book, but I note it's a chronicle of a QE2 world voyage, it was published in 2006 (making it just over a decade old), and the author is a retired M.D. So the details seem to fit. Rare david,Mississauga Posted March 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2017 The book is called C-six by Nigel Roberts.... This is indeed a fascinating book. Dr. Roberts was a lecturer on the 1988 crossing I took. I so enjoyed his talk that I bought the book, which he signed on board, and I re-read it every few years.
