missliad Posted November 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Can someone list the name of a few hotels that are in the same area as the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel? And - has anyone stayed at this hotel and want to write about your experience, it would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Cruising89143 Posted November 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2005 The Marriott Biscayne Bay has become my favorite in the Miami area. I have tried several other hotels in this area and also in the SOBE area and this comes out on top. The hotel rooms went through a major refurb several years ago but the view of the port cannot be beat. They have a nice patio area overlooking the marina. Great place for a cocktail or two. TrentS Posted November 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2005 I agree with Gator... That would be an excellent choice! Biscayne Bay Marriott is a nice hotel with awesome views of the Port of Miami from the SE view rooms. It's a 5 minute cab ride from the port or Bayside Marketplace. Mousefanz Posted November 22, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Hello all - We've book NOS for 2/4/06 and are researching Miami hotels in the downtown and airport areas for the night before. We'd like to book the Marriott Biscayne Bay if it has TrentS's recommendation ;) - but we will not have a car. What's the most ecomical way for our group of 6 to get from the airport to downtown. TIA, Sheryl
Bequia Posted November 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Hello all - What's the most ecomical way for our group of 6 to get from the airport to downtown.TIA,Sheryl Sheryl, If you were a group of 5 it would've been a flat rate of $21.70 for a cab. An airport shuttle to downtown Miami is $11.00 per person. If you do the math, the economical way would be to split the group and take two cabs. ;) http://www.miami-airport.com/html/taxi_and_shuttle_service.html oops, forgot to mention the fuel surcharge of $1.00 per person. soon2bretired Posted December 19, 2005 #9 Share Posted December 19, 2005 Is Holiday Inn/Biscayne a better choice than Hampton Inn/Downtown?
TrentS Posted December 19, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2005 Is Holiday Inn/Biscayne a better choice than Hampton Inn/Downtown? Yes... They're both old, but the Hampton Inn is in a rather isolated location, with nothing to walk to. The Holiday Inn Bayside/Port of Miami is in a great location directly across from Bayside Marketplace and the entrance to the Port of Miami. soon2bretired Posted December 19, 2005 #11 Share Posted December 19, 2005 Great, i am sticking with them. Any chance they'd have a shuttle over to the port?
TrentS Posted December 19, 2005 #12 Share Posted December 19, 2005 No shuttles (none of the downtown Miami hotels have free shuttles), but the Holiday Inn Bayside is literally just across the street from the bridge to the port. It's a 2 to 3 minute cab ride! VERY inexpensive, just hop in a cab and you'll be on your ship before you know it.
