sprite Posted March 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Port of Baltimore does not require advanced reservations - any issues with the filling up?
JMAE Posted March 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2017 We drive from NE PA and have been on the Pride 5 times and never had a problem parking at the pier in Baltimore. In the past they had a cash line which was much faster than credit line. $105 for a week is not a bad deal. Enjoy your cruise! One week to go before we are back on the Pride. AnitaVacation Posted March 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2017 we've sailed out of baltimore several times....it is about a 6 hour drive for us, so we book a 'park and cruise' hotel....for just a few dollars more than the cost of parking at the cruise terminal, you spend the night at the hotel, have breakfast, leave your car and a shuttle will take you directly to the front door of the cruise terminal...this works out great for us....otherwise, we would have to hit the road at about 6am on cruise morning and make that long drive, then be pretty wiped out once we got on board.... ps...there are several of these hotels in the baltimore area and the shuttle drivers know how to get around all the cruise terminal traffic....they get you right in there!! jc4me Posted March 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2017 AnitaVacation - which hotel do you prefer for the park n cruise? I am interested in this too. We sailed from Baltimore once and stayed at the Best Western close to the port. It worked out great, but was wondering if there was someplace better as the neighborhood seemed a little sketchy. sprite Posted March 27, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I live about 30 min from the port so there will be no hotel stuff for us. Also, we loathe shuttles and much prefer coming and going on our schedule. Just wondering if the lot ever gets full. flowers44 Posted March 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Three years ago, DH and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was across the street from the Casino in Baltimore where we ate supper the night before the cruise and a short walk to the Baseball Field. Several people went to a ball game the evening before our cruise. Part of their parking in under cover and we were able to get into that section. Breakfast was in the morning at the hotel and the shuttle worked out great. We came in from upstate NY so the overnight before is the only way we do cruises. The hotel and parking were not that much more than the pier parking. The pickup shuttle worked well also and we were on our way home by about 9:30 AM when we returned to Baltimore.
