Marseille

We are in Marseille in june (me, my husband and our almost 5year old Son). I was looking for an intresting excursion on our own suitable for our Son. I was thinking to go to chateau d'if. Maybe also the petit train to the notre dame but i'm not sure if that wouldn't be to long for him to do both. How long would it take to go from the cruise ship to old port with A taxi? And how long does it take to go to chateau d'if with the Ferry? We prefer chateau d'if so if the trip takes to long to do both, we just go to chateau d'if. The day after we take a relaxing day in Villefranche (just short visit to Villefranche and the beach).. Love to hear your advise.
