Carnival Valor, Do balcony doors stay open?

My DH wants to hear and smell the ocean at night so we are hoping to be able to leave the door open to the balcony. Is this possible, is it a sliding door? Any help from past cruisers, Thanks

No problem, acually thought it was a board glitch. Your other post is about halfway down the page.

Hi - The doors on the Valor do not stay open by themselves. Use a bungee cord and loop it over the handle and stretch it to the partion on the balcony. This is what we did and it worked out great.

We just wedged one of the chairs in the door opening to hold it open. It worked great.

Dont know about the Valor but when the balcony doors are left open the AC shuts down.

The air conditioning did not shut down on the Valor when we left our door open.

I Read Somewhere There Are Fridges In The Cabins On The Valor Is This True?

Yes there are refrigerators- small dorm like ones located under the vanity area. Sometimes these are not very cold at all. We take a small cooler--one that hols 12 cans and keep it filled with our cans of soda for the day. The steward keeps it filled with ice twice daily. The refrigerators are stocked with the stuff they want you to buy. You can ask the steward to take them out. Sometimes he will take it away. sometimes he will leave it under the vanity.
