This is kind of a mixed question, we still don't have airfare yet and hotels in Ft lauderdale are really expensive in march. How far is Miami and how much would transport for 9 people be if we flew in and stayed there? Our other option is W. Palm Beach same question ,distance and $$? I'm trying to decide if i can save $$ by flying in to PBI or miami.

Ft Lauderdale is a 45-60 minute drive from MIA (on a good day, otherwise countless hours on a bad day). Same holds true for West Palm Beach. Cab fare from MIA to downtown FLL is $81.70 for the cab. http://www.miami-airport.com/html/taxi_and_shuttle_service.html An airport shuttle would run you around $18 to $25 per person.

A van from MIA or West Palm Beach to Port Everglades that carries 8-10 people charges around $125 +/- http://topshuttle.com/rates.php, http://www.supershuttle.com/

Gratuities not included.

Another option would be to rent a 9 passenger van at the airport and drive yourselves. It's hard to get lost in SoFla. ;)
