Booking Transfers

Has anyone used Cruise Compete? What is the downside of transferring bookings? I booked five balcony cabins for a June 2018 Allure sailing. I booked while I was on the Allure last week and all I got was a reduced deposit of $100 per cabin plus an OBC of $100 per cabin. I have not really bothered to transfer my single cabin bookings in the past but for five cabins it might be worthwhile (?)

Thanks

Marty

Cruise Compete cannot give you any lower rates than those available on the Royal Caribbean website. What they CAN do is tell you how much OBC they can offer you in addition to amount that you received with your on board booking. When I used it, I was actually quoted higher prices by several of the responses. I ultimately did end up finding someone to whom I was happy to transfer the reservation. I didn't want to use my regular agency because they charge a cancellation penalty on a cancelled cruise even when before final payment. This particular cruise had a big what if hanging over it in terms of time off from work/school.
