Fort Lauderdale Hotel & shuttle from Airport...

Another post since I'm STILL looking for a hotel for 1/14/06 before our cruise out of Port of Miami - since we don't get in until after 9 pm, I have decided to stay in Lauderdale that night but how can I find out which hotels offer a free shuttle from the airport to their hotel besides calling every one of them? Trying to stay at a moderate hotel but if I have to pay a taxi, I might as well spend some more on the hotel.

Amerisuites has a shuttle and is a moderately priced hotel - and - very nice for the price - buffet breakfast included which is very good. located within a mile or so from the port and close to several restaurants and stores.

If you decide to go with Amerisuites, try Valuetrips.com for your reservation. It is much cheaper than the Amerisuites site. You might want to call Amerisuites and ask how late their airport shuttle runs too, just so there are no surprises.

Try La Quinta cruiseport/airport hotel in Hollywood (actually 10 min drive from FLL) they have a phone just call for pickup. Check tripadvisor.com for reviews. While at FLL go out to the kiosk at the ground transport exit and arrange with TriCounty - about $60 for a towncar to pick you up at your hotel and take you to the MIA port. It's simple!!!!

The SE 17th Street hotels are as close or closer than the "airport" hotels, and have everything around them you could possibly want. Most of the "airport" hotels have nothing close to them. DO NOT get caught up on airport shuttles as the SE 17th Street hotels are all less than 10 minutes from the airport, a very cheap cab ride, but AmeriSuites & Holiday Inn Express "Convention Center" both have airport shuttles...
