Weird things Alaskans do

I loved a sign posted near one of the bars in the Anchorage airport. It said, "Ladies beware! Looking for a man in Alaska? Well, the odds are good but the goods are odd".

A friend of mine here in Wyoming grew up in Alaska and she said she still refers to the main U.S. area as "the lower 48."

Have to agree with some of them, but, not all of them!

 

That used to be true, but, the odds aren't as good any more, and, I agree the odds haven't always been good.

 

The other saying was, the Odds are good, but, the Women win the Iditarod. This came about when Susan Butcher, started winning the long distance dog race from Anchorage to Nome.
