Costa Maya..dune buggy....golf cart

Does anyone have information on renting a golf cart or dune buggy in Costa Maya? We will be travelling with kids: 8, 11 and 14 and were thinking of enjoying Mahajul beach and renting a golf cart. Where can they be driven? Is it safe? Can 2 adults and 3 kids fit in one? Would they get stolen? Anyone have any info.

We rented a golf cart for four....I think they have some for more people. Not sure. You have to sign a paper saying only that many will ride in it. Anyone over 18 can drive it...you leave one drivers license. $65 for the whole day...a couple hours was $30. It includes your gas. The first part of the ride is highway...we stayed close to the side so others could pass if they wanted to...the second half is very bumpy road but fun....yes it is safe. You park in a football field (they give you a map) and take out the keys. It is only about a 10-15 min. ride. Half way to the beach is the Drinking Donkey, a restaurant and some stores. This place is very nice and up and coming still. The food there was verrrrrrry good, drinks were OK. We stayed for about 4 hours at El Faro on the beach (it is right near where you park the carts).....very good food and very good drinks. We loved it there.....prices are good too.
