Miel22 Posted June 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted June 13, 2017 Thanks Libby. That's great advice which I'm sure will be useful to others. :) :) Monica
smtcan Posted June 14, 2017 #27 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We did not see those stores that frequently. We did find a post office near the Tokyo Station. We took lots of Yen in cash just in case. We found 7/11 stores in each city we visited. They seemed to carry everything we needed - coffee, snacks and cash! Surprisingly, credit cards are not generally accepted in Japan, although stores catering to visitors tended to take them. One of our hotels (a ryokan) accepted cash only, but we were made aware of this when we booked. We took some yen but since we bought a JR rail pass and booked most of our hotels in dollars before leaving home, we really didn't need a lot of cash. bigwally Posted June 14, 2017 #28 Share Posted June 14, 2017 There is a chain group of convenience shops with a name that might be Andersons, Murchisons, sorry I can't remember. Lawsons? Lots of those and 7-11s in Tokyo.
