Moerin78 Posted May 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2017 We have sailed HAL and the dress code for MDR has been slacks and collared shirts for men and dress pants and tops for women but I've heard that the Alaskan cruise is more relaxed and jeans are acceptable, is that correct. Beach4me Posted May 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2017 I just read a review on the HAL board that said they wore jeans every night. I have overpacked on every Alaska cruise I've taken. Not this time. 2 pairs of nice jeans. 1 pair of comfortable, black pants and a pair of shorts. Those are all the bottoms I'm taking. Tops will be limited as well. Kamloops50 Posted May 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2017 As a rule jeans are acceptable every where except the MDR on formal nights ( 2 per 7 day cruise) . Specialty and the buffet will allow jeans all the time. Keep in mind they have to be clean without holes in them Basically dressy type jeans. I've also seen men wear jean suits on formal night as well.
alwaysfrantic Posted May 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2017 No jeans on Gala nights in the main dining room. You could wear them in the Lido though. The dress code is the same for all the ships regardless of location though I have heard Alaska tends to more casual.
