15% Gratuity for Room Service food?

Is there some sort of gratuity added directly to a room service order? Everything says it is free, but then you look at room service menus I have seen online and they say gratuity not included?

 

Do you just give cash to the deliverer of the food or do you have to apply it to your seapass account.

 

I cannot get PHP searches of the forum to work again so I have to possibly deliver a repeat thread here.

we always tip the person that delivers the food two or three dollars depending on the size of the order.

Since the food has not stated value there is no way to add a 15% tip to your seaspas account. So the previous poster is telling you they do what RCCL is trying to get you to do, give the server what you feel is an appropriate tip for the value of what you order. In fact that is why I always bring plenty of small bills for tipping . It is the only cash you can spend on the ship other than the casino.

DH and I usually order coffee, juice and pastries from room service on sea day mornings. For that we tip $2 and would do the same for a small, late night snack. For a full meal we tip around $5 depending on the amount of food ordered.

THANK YOU!!! for your answer to this post. I asked this same question about 6 months ago and got some answers but not one as good as your's is. Great guide for room service tipping.

 

As a side note, we always bring about $50 in one dollar bills to tip room service, porters, taxi driver, and so on.

Sounds like we all do about the same: for coffee and or juice we usually give the delivery person an $ or $$; for sandwhiches or full meal $$$ to $$$$$. NMnita
