GranysT Posted June 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2017 Does anyone know what the cost is to ride the cable car at AC? I read someone took a taxi to the cable car, but didn't say cost of the taxi. Anyone here know? Thanks
KroozFoolz Posted June 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2017 http://www.ambercove.com/port-information/taxi-information.aspx posted taxi rate is $30 one way for 1-5 people from Amber Cove to teleferico (cable car) We stopped there as part of our tour of the Puerto Plata area, arranged at the taxi stand at the port. That price was negotiable so you might get a better rate than what is posted. I believe the cost for the cable car was about $8 pp round trip. http://www.puertoplata.com/id3.html

Aussiemate Posted July 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2017 My understanding is that inside the port these are special taxis who have paid a premium to Carnival to enter their private port. Perhaps try going outside the front gates or organise independent tour. Find out what the local taxi rates are and work what would be a realistic cost depending upon how many km the trip is. If you take a taxi, agree with the driver on the fare before your trip starts, as cabs are not metered. You'll find taxis in Central Park in Puerto Plata. Write it on a piece of paper so no argue later. $1 US = < 50 DOP.

How long is the trip from Amber Cove to teleferico? How long is the cable car ride? Thanks in advance.

How long is the trip from Amber Cove to teleferico? How long is the cable car ride? Thanks in advance. We (two of us) arranged a private tour with a taxi driver at the port. It was maybe twenty minutes or so ride from Amber Cove to the teleferico. The cable car ride itself is probably 5-10 minutes each way. Amazing views!
