gigem_aggies Posted June 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2017 I've seen some people talk about getting cash from the slots by playing a couple of hands and then cashing out? How does that work? Here's my scenario: We have $500 in OBC plus $300 in Carnival gift cards left from our Cheers purchase. $800. If we want to get some of that in cash to use ashore, how would we go about doing that? I'm assuming in the casino...but how?
stevefrisco Posted June 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2017 Go to a slot that looks good. Upload $500 (or less). Play a spin or two. Go to the cage and cash out your slot bank (which is whatever you uploaded to your account plus or minus your results from your spins). One thing to note, you can only cash out in whole dollar increments. For that reason, I would play a quarter or dollar machine. I tried to use a penny machine and was left with 499.85. I played on that .85 for 15 minutes after they said I couldn't cash it out. Not a big deal for me, but non-gamblers may find that annoying. If I had to do it over again I would have bet max on a dollar machine for $5 for one spin because that's your best shot at hitting a "big one" for less than the cost of a beer. Then you got a weird casino cashier. You are supposed to be able to get back any amount of money that's on your card. When we cashed out on the Sunshine, my mother got coins as part of her money and it wasn't an even dollar amount.
BlondieB Posted June 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2017 yeah I've never had a problem getting my entire bank back either, including coins. When you sit down at the slot and put in your sail & sign card (you'll have to go through setting up a pin number at the slot machine the first time), you'll press the button that says "Charge sail & sign", it'll then ask for your pin and dollar amount. I don't believe you have to even play because once it's loaded to the machine, you can't put it back on your sail & sign, you have to select the button "cash out to player bank". Whatever you have on the machine is the dollar amount that will go into your "player bank". You then mosey up to the cashier window and tell them you want to cash out or withdraw from your player bank.

HOWEVER, if you do this they will give you the cash, then lock your players club account. You will have to work with the Casino Host to have it unlocked to play in the future. So, if you are only planing to be in the casino 1 time to do this, and never actually play in the casino you dont need to do a spin, but if you plan to play do at least 1 spin, I recommend 3 or more.. spiritkat090909 Posted June 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2017 I bring all of our casino funds in gift cards. Hubby & I both play at tables mainly... we download to slots initially, then play tables. DAILY cash out. So far, we haven't been locked out. BUT, we do play heavily. The daily cash out is so that we buy in with cash at tables and KNOW what we are winning/losing.

That's sort of what I do, try not to do it daily and not an issue. I figured the free gas is like a rebate and it isn't hurting anyone but the grocery store. RE: not being able to get the change I did not know that, an honestly it isn't a big deal. I played 15 minutes on $.85 can't really complain about that. The Pride casino people were awesome to us. The only issue I had with them (and a lot of other people seemed to have the same issue) was my life partner was supposed to get the DOU card as soon as we got on the boat according to the rep we talked to on the phone. It was our fault for not making sure we had it in writing because I don't think there is very good communication between the reps, the casino and carnival. Other people were (understandably) more pissed about it but we ordered some liquor to the room and I gave the old lady drinks until she earned her card and no one said anything so it wasn't a big deal. Being messy here, why was your partner getting a DOU card? Was it 5000 points on the previous cruise or was it a Premier cruise? Asking because I am wondering if there have been some changes or if as you say a lack of communication. And when you say rep on the phone, were you able to speak with someone on the phone from Ocean Players Club or were you refereeing to a Customer Service Rep? The casino is very often wrong so I always save and print my emails from the players club. For us it happened on maybe 3 or 4 cruises we were not "on the list" for DOU card or casino cash. The one time it was for me and my wife $800 each casino cash and I needed the actual mailer, it worked out because I had them Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Forums mobile app

I'm not up on the lingo so it is possible it could have been a premier cruise, but I think it was the 5000 points. Our original offer which we both had was for me and her to both have an interior cabin and two DOU cards per cabin. We wound up booking a couple super cheap balconies because the kids had never had one before. I believe this was booked under what I thought was the same deal, just paid the upgrade fee or whatever. I was reading about other people having issues with free play and DOU cards so I called the players club and Carnival to make sure everything was square about a month out and got the same information that yes we'd be getting some free play and yes we'd both be getting DOU as soon as we walked onto the boat. Something went wrong with her booking because she got her free play but no DOU. I got both free play and DOU. As I reread what I just typed, I think there are 3-4 things that could be issues that lead to this happening, though it still doesn't make sense that I got both and she got something different. The really weird thing is on our Xmas cruise, she played a lot heavier than me because she hit a decent jackpot the second and third nights and kept firing at them the entire time. (Fire to retire we always say.)

You would have booked it as a Premier and would have had info in your stateroom every night regarding the next days premier events. Who knows where the slip up occurred? Bounce Back offers don't usually come with a DOU card. It has been my experience the ocean players club does not accept phone calls though you might get transferred to them. On their web page is a place to email them. This has saved me more than once. It allows me to have written proof of promises. Just a suggestion to CYA for next cruise. I do hope you enjoyed your cruise even with the miscommunications. Again, thanks for the reply and happy sails.

Loud_curly Posted June 15, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Pardon me if this question has been answered before, but how do you know how many points you got at the casino on your last cruise? Is it linked to your online VIPF account?

Is it linked to your online VIPF account? You can go to the players club website and ask for a win/loss statement. They wont actually tell you how many points you had ( at least they would not for me) but I could see what they felt my win loss was for the cruise. Hope that helps. Is it linked to your online VIPF account? Very difficult if you are a table player. You can ask your points but..... I do take a photo of my points on the slot machine on the last night. Serves to assist my memory if I have used the DOU card one too many times. LOL After the cruise you are at the players clubs mercy.

stevefrisco Posted June 15, 2017 #20 Share Posted June 15, 2017 They told me how many I had and I play tables. They wouldn't tell everyone saw another guy ask and they didn't tell him, but if you try to be nice and polite to the people they return the favor in little ways when they can.
