tudsabz Posted June 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Doing the Adriatic explorer in September and there doesn't look much to do / see in Koper? Had anyone done the Piran / Portoroz trip with Thomson or are these places easy enough to get to by local bus?
edinburgher Posted June 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2017 We were there last year and the year before.Town is very small. First visit we did the Ljubljana/Lake Bled shorex and loved that. Ljubljana is one of the prettiest capital cities in Europe and one of the smallest. Still had time for a quick walk through of Koper on return.Last year on second visit we went to Piran on the local bus. Very easy. Lovely little place.Try this link. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=234 If it does not take you directly to Other Mediterranean Ports to "search forum" for both names, I suggest you go onto the Ports of Call section, then the Europe board, then to Other Mediterranean Ports and in the "search forum" box you insert Koper and Piran (one at a time). All previous threads containing these words will come up in the results and you can read them for extensive info on both, including sightseeing suggestions, buses, bus stops etc. I just tried and Piran brought up 39 threads and Koper 119. Hope this helps.
Chaffesbird Posted June 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2017 As soon as you go through the port gates there will be someone selling tickets for Piran. First time we went we had a mini bus. A few years later, it was a coach. It leaves Piran around 1.30 which gives you plenty of time to look around Koper.
