Hi there. When we went to Venice on the QV last year, there was a shuttle boat from the ship into Venice, can anybody please advise, is this still the case when docking in Venice?. Thanks, David.

Good afternoon Dajo.

I would almost guarantee that there is, bookable on the ship and ashore.

Prices may have gone up since I took that photograph but it's still there.

Yes, they still offer the shuttle boats. You can get either one-use passes or unlimited passes, and each option can be for one day or two days.

I have just returned from Venice on a Cunard cruise and I found it much cheaper to get into Venice city centre by the people mover to Piazzale Roma and then getting around on a vaporetto 24-hour pass. There is also the option of taking the Alilaguna boat to San Marco and getting a vaporetto pass from there, although Alilaguna is much more expensive than the people mover it is also slightly closer to the cruise terminal (saving you a couple of minutes' walk).

Cunard charge (last week):

$24 for a one-day adult pass (unlimited, but in reality I suspect most people only used it there and back).

$36 for a two-day adult pass.

I know it was $24 but I can't be 100% sure on the $36 one.

A one way ticket was $13 I think.

We were there last week as well. Venice is small enough that it is very walkable, so it's worth figuring out how much you would actually use a pass, since it takes quite a bit of time back and forth to the ship. We did the people mover in, then the vaparetto to where we needed to be, walked all day, and took the Allaguna from St. Mark's back for a total of 16.50pp.

We used this service last summer. We booked at the kiosk, we queued next to the trip from the ship, but loads cheaper:D.
