Taxi from Bush Intercontinental to Galveston

I am looking for information on taxi service from Bush Intercontinental (IAH) to Galveston. We are a family of 4 and wanted to know:

whether taxi service is available (one-way) from IHA to Galveston;

some idea of the taxi fare (approximate $$$ is ok);

name of a taxi cab company in Houston with whom we could book a cab ahead of time (we get into IHA on Xmas eve at 9PM and would prefer not to get stranded at the airport);

Any assistance/information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I looked because I was curious how much one would be. It's a decent drive from Houston to Galveston. I found this site:

http://www.yellowcabhouston.com/fare_info.html

I'm not certain that I entered the correct airport, so you should check this:

Estimated Distance: 71.44 miles

Estimated Fare: $143.95

This is an estimated fare only. Actual fare may vary due to route traveled and to traffic conditions or delays.

There are other cab services available.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Given we are a family of 4, a $100 taxi fare seems reasonable. My only concern is whether we will be able to find a taxi on Xmas eve for a ONE-WAY fare from IAH to Galveston at 9PM.

Thoughts/ideas anyone??

Enterprise does one way rentals. Call the airport office directly, not the national #. Much less expensive and the drive is pretty easy. I've done this for two years in a row and it's been pretty nice.

Good Luck

We booked Galveston Limo both to and from Galveston for our cruise. It will cost us $120 total. That way we know for sure we will have transportation. Our only concern is the debarking when we get back. Our flight has been moved up to 1:38 pm. We will request an early debarking because we need to be at Bush by noon. Wish us luck!!!

You might also try Hertz since they have a desk right inside the exit door

at the boat terminal. They have a shuttle from the lot to the terminal. We

rented one from there with a drop off in San antonio and it was only $74.00.

The drive is easy.
