Can you bring Food into Parc Guell?

for one of our post-cruise days I am planning a trip to Sagrada Familia in the morning and Parc Guell in the afternoon with tickets to the monumental zone. I was thinking it might be a fun spot to have lunch if we brought some sandwiches with us.

 

Does anyone know if you are permitted to bring food into Parc Guell?

 

 

If not are there any recommendations for lunch spots near Sagrada Familia?

Yes, you can bring food into Park Güell... and in fact, there's a spot, just outside the Monumental area, with picnic tables for your convenience: https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7153/6836580711_7dcff2e2a2_b.jpg It's located give or take, to the north of the main square, a bit further up from those palm trees you see north-east of this pic: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/40/3b/15/403b15904cb3ba51a850d2bc94ad0d93.jpg

 

I do believe though, you cannot enter food into the Monumental area.

 

Also be aware there are a few things to be seen outside the Monumental area -the one containing most (not all!) art works- which might be of your interest, such as the Viaduct (http://brbun01.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/182.jpg) or the Turó de les Tres Creus (http://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/49299751.jpg) at the top of the park and with an impressive view of the city: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5450/8811907184_4a4bcffe44_o.jpg It's advisable to arrive a bit earlier to the hour you've booked the Monumental area of the park and venture to these sites.
