Can anyone tell me how to get from cruise terminal to Hilton Back Bay Hotel using the subway? From the UK so not sure of the system.

Thanks

If you use google maps, and get the directions between the two, click on the "train" icon (third from left) and it gives directions using public transportation. Boston's "T" system is a combination of subways, street cars, commuter rail, and buses.

Having said that, it isn't so easy to get there using public transportation. A five minute walk to the SL2 (Silver Line #2, a bus), direction "South Station", and then 9 minutes on the bus, then in South Station transfer to the "Worcester/Framingham" commuter rail, direction "Worcester" for one stop, about 6 minutes, get off at Back Bay Station. Then a 12 minute walk to the hotel. Fare is $2.75 each. If it were me, I'd cab it (20 minutes) and $25 with tip, or uber/lyft ($15-18).

If you can manage your luggage, you can go for free from the airport. Silver Line to South Station, transfer via elevator to the Red Line direction Alewife (back of the train) and go 2 stops to Park St where you transfer to the Green Line B train to go to the Hynes Convention Center stop. This is actually a mostly accessible route, but the accessible transfer at Park Street can be confusing (need to be at the very back of the train and get off on the center platform for the elevator up to the Green Line). Some of the Green line trains have doors that open at platform level and some have steps. Not recommended at rush hour. Hynes is not accessible.

If you're really interested and can walk more with your luggage, you can take the Green Line E train to Prudential for an accessible station.
