maldenmusic Posted August 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I have my 14th cruise booked for May 2018 on the Dream and always book online. For my last 4 or 5 cruises from NOLA and Mobile, we've always had to pick a check in time when the cruise was booked. This time that option isn't there that I see. Are they still doing the staggered check ins? I thought they worked well vs how they did it before. Thanks for any help.
sonicbuffalo Posted August 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I think they assign you a check in time based on when you made your final payment.....not 100% sure tho.

Probably because that cruise is about 18 months out, Carnival hasn't added the check-in time feature yet. Maybe wait until this coming November and see if it's there. And no, despite sonicbuffalo's speculation, it has nothing to do with whether or not your cruise is paid in full. For our last cruise, I don't think the feature for selecting a check-in time was available until about 11 months out.

That's why I was confused.

Lol. ;) I was thinking you were probably multitasking. That's usually when I do stuff like that.

I am booked on the cruise for October 2017, and I have that option. Keep checking back as your cruise gets closer. By the way, before I made my final payment, that option was there as well. springs741 Posted August 1, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Appointment times for check in are now being listed about 180 days from sail date. As I posted on another thread, times for my mid January cruise were listed as of last week. That is just under 180 days and I could have easily missed the first day they were released. cruisinmems Posted August 1, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 1, 2017 maldenmusic, I have asked you questions before about your cruise from Mobile in May. Since this thread is about picking a check in time it is not too much of a high-jack. LOL We sailed out of Mobile in January but the port workers were not enforcing the check in times. We are going again in October. Since you left from there in May was the check in times being enforced? thanks so much for all your help. :)
