Anyone been on this excursion? There are no reviews listed with the excursion on Carnival. We will be in Skagway 2 weeks from Friday, and are trying to find an excursion that everyone will like. We have one that really wants to pan for gold. Makes me a little nervous not having any reviews to read :confused:

You may not be able to find reviews of this specific combo tour, but you should be able to find plenty of reviews of the two parts of it. You may also want to check Trip Advisor for more reviews.

 

The gold panning is seeded. Everyone will find a little gold. They give you a black, opaque container (like an old film canister) to put it in, so you cannot see your gold at all. Then they try to sell you jewelry and other crap to "display" your gold. It's kind of fun, but VERY commercial and touristy.
