Thomson Celebration - Timeless Europe 18th Sept 2017

Recommended Posts

Hello

We have recently booked onto this cruise and are starting to look at excursions in the different ports, there doesn't appear to be a roll call for this cruise so we wondered who else was on the cruise and what people had planned in the different ports, whether it be Thomson excursions, local excursions or doing your own thing.

Thanks

Matt

We're doing this cruise too having watched the price bouncing up n down in typical fashion over the last few months. We usually do our own thing but would do a Thomson excursion if it's something we fancied that was easier than diy.

We are on this cruise too, booked last September. There are lots of people on f.b. going. We haven't booked any trips yet and will diy Bruges, Cobh, Dublin, Lisbon, Gib, Portimao. That just leaves Cherbourg, Ferrol and Vigo to decide on.

I would like to visit the U.K. Normandy landing beach area of Arromanches and Courseulles from Cherbourg, but haven't worked out how to do that yet. An excursion to Santiago de Compestela looks good for Ferrol. I haven't checked out Vigo yet.

Looking forward to this cruise and hopefully some good weather. Have stocked up on Stugeron, just in case.

Likewise, we have stocked up on sea sickness tablets just in case.

We are still working out our plans but current thinking is: -

Zeebrugge - bus to Bruge (http://www.cruise-express.be/en/) and then local guided walking tour

Cherbourg - Not too sure, likely walk around the town, visit La Cite de la Mer

Dublin - Local guided walking tour

Cohb - hoping to get the first train into Cork but according to Irish Rail website it runs at 9.30 so not sure if we will get off the ship in time

Ferrol - Santiago De Compostela tour, either with Thomson or local company

Vigo - Not sure yet

Lisbon - we have decided to book at tour, http://wehatetourismtours.com/lisbon-tours/pirates-of-the-cruise-ships/

Portimao - Walk around the town, maybe a dolphin watching tour

Gibraltar - Walk around the town, Cable Car and Nature Reserve
