Diving in Montego Bay?

I used to that that as well, but after reading This trip report I've come to realize that not all of Jamaica diving is bad. Still, I think finding the decent diving isn't within the scope of a one day visit. I'd probably stay on the ship as well.

yes - given that it IS an island in the Cari' I'm SURE there's decent diving someplace. But in many many visits to the major ports I haven't found it. The one exception is Port Antonio but then again that's not exactly a major port. Ocho, Mo Bay, Kingston .... no, I can't recommend the diving.

Unfortunately Jam' allowed the use of fish traps for a good long time and that pretty much zapped the fish population. I'd not seen much recovery on any of my trips. The government is more aware of the issues now and controls are in place. But it takes time.
