Loyalty Expiration Question

We did a loyalty status match via our status with Celebrity. We will be on our first MSC cruise in April of 2019. Noticed that our MSC loyalty status has an expiration date of January 2020. What does that actually mean? Do we have to book another cruise before 2020 to keep our status?

A quick answer is

NO

:- you will start another 3 year membership from the date of disembarkation of your April 2019 cruise.

but the caveat is you must have completed a cruise within three those 3 years to maintain your status as a member .

So your present status is OK for your upcoming cruise

and after that you will have a new expiry date of April 2022 and have to complete a cruise between April 2019 and April 2022

here is the actual wording from the T&Cs

1.5 Length of Membership

MSC Voyagers Club membership is subject to a minimum of one cruise every three years.

If the last cruise disembarkation date is over 3 years (36 months) or no cruisehas been completed in 3 years after the enrolment date, membership to the MSC Voyagers Club programme will expire.

For example: if the last disembarkation date is 30.01.2015 and no cruises are completed by 30.01.2018, the membership will expire.

If the registration date is 30.01.2015 and no cruises are completed by 30.01.2018, the membership will expire.

Should the membership expire, passengers must subscribe to the MSC Voyagers Club again. Subscription will be subject to the conditions stated. A new Club identification number will be assigned.

Thanks for the response. Since the April 2019 cruise will be our first on MSC we are holding off booking any more MSC until that cruise. We currently have nine on the books - seven with Celebrity, one MSC and one Viking Ocean. We definitely like to cruise :D Thanks again for the explanation.
